Yesterday Eric and I went to the movies and watched Slumdog Millionaire in an old cinema, which still has hand painted movie-posters above the entrance. A fantastic movie. The young indian actors are amazing, the music fits perfectly and the story is interesting, intelligent and romantic. Go and watch it if you can!

Although I have some free days left before University starts again, I´m almost back to normal. 

It feels good to watch the holiday pics...

Havanna

Although this is not a political blog I´ve got the feeling to talk a little about Cuba besides the beautiful architecture and the great beach.

People there have jobs, but almost no possibility to start a career like we in Europe have. There are people begging on the streets for money, soap or food but not as much as I thought. We got told that people quit their jobs to start begging because it´s more profitable. We saw people living in houses which looked like they will collapse any minute and the cars are so old that you can´t believe they are still moving. And also, there aren´t enough cars for everyone so people have to hitchhike a lot. There a two different currencies on the island. One for tourists and one for locals, which is less valuable. That is also something you get to see while having vacations in Cuba. Thanks to the anonymous reader...

But as I mentioned before this is not a political blog. 

It´s more like a "what-I-wore-yesterday-blog".

The Sounds

back home I´ve been invited to a The Sounds concert. Actually it was a Fall Out Boys concert but The Sounds have been the support act and the band we were interested in. The man who made it all happen (pictured) is a guy I´ve been to school with and who´s a friend of Natti and Toni. So he put our names on the guest list. What we didn´t knew was that he also invited us for drinks and into the vip lounge which was pretty amazing, because we didn´t had to join the crowd of young Fall Out Boys fans and had a great view on the awesome show and the beautiful outfit of Maja Ivarsson. What a funny night!

Cuba - a colorful island

Every house in Cuba has a bright color as long as it still has any plaster... Everywhere you see these old ornamental fences, chairs and tables. The houses are small but very beautiful and the flair of Cuba is just like you know it from postcards. I loved it there and I´m willing to return some day, but until then I´ll establish a photo album with pictures and souvenirs of our trip.

Back from Cuba

Back home after 14 wonderful days in Cuba. After a 10 hours flight from Paris to Havana, on which we celebrated Eric´s birthday we arrived at our first station. We took a cab from the airport to our hotel and when we arrived there we had to show our passports at the reception. Unfortunately my handbag wasn´t there anymore. What a shock! My passport, visa, money, mobile phone-gone and we just arrived. After the longest 15 minutes of my life the cab driver came back with my bag under his arm. What a way to start into your vacation. To calm down and relax a little we had a Mojito at the hotel bar before we went to have a look at the beautiful place next to our hotel. More pictures and stories tomorrow.

still in Cuba

Hi everyone,
sorry for the lack of posts in the last two weeks.
I'm still on Cuba where I'm making holidays with my boyfriend. The island is beautiful, the weather is perfect and the ocean is warm and looks blue-green. Unfortunately I'm not able to load up some pictures here and to post regularly, but I'll be back on Tuesday and then I'll show you pictures of my wonderful trip. Until next week!
